Clay to cup, bowl, plate
When: 1, 8, 15, 22 February, 1 March 2025 then a two week break for drying and firing, 15 March 2025 for glazing.
Time: Saturdays 1.30pm to 3.30pm
Where: Art Central, 24 Church St, Moruya
Cost: $360 (includes all materials and firing).

About: Ready to swap out your mass-produced mugs and plates for something truly special? Join us for a six-week ceramics course and unleash your inner potter! Learn how to pinch, coil, and slab-build your way to a collection of unique vessels. From understanding the quirks of clay to kiln firing, under glazing, and glazing, you'll be guided every step of the way to create stunning hand-crafted tableware that’s all YOU. This course is designed to suit all levels of experience.

Clay Creations – Hand building ceramics
When: 20, 27 March, 3, 10, 24 April 2025 then a two week break for drying and firing, then 1 May 2025.
Time: Thursdays 9.30am to 11.30am
Where: Art Central, 24 Church St, Moruya
Cost: $360 includes clay, tuition, glazing and firing.

About: This six-week course is all about getting creative with pinch, coil, and slab building to craft unique small sculptural forms. Glazing will focus on underglaze painting, topped with a clear glaze to add that finishing touch. Let your imagination run wild as you shape whimsical creations, abstract designs, or functional art!
The course is perfect for beginners and for those wanting to build on their existing hand-building skills.
This series of 4 ceramics hand building classes will give you the space to get your hands dirty and your imagination fired. Through the process of pinching, coiling and slabbing the clay, who knows what you'll create. Includes clay, tuition, glazing and firing, and a few laughs. Come with an idea in mind.

Mosaic Blossoms and Bird Baths
When: Three day course.
Saturday 22 March 1pm to 4pm.
Sunday 23 March 9am to 12noon.
Saturday 29 March 9am to 11am 2025.

Cost: $200 (includes all materials)

About: Learn all about mosaics in this fun and creative three day workshop! You’ll explore the types of tiles, ceramics, and other materials suitable for mosaicking, how to use nippers to create flowers and other shapes, the best glues to use, and how to prepare your designs to cover your bowl. You’ll also learn how to fill in the background, grout, and finish your bowl to perfection.
Suitable for beginners as well as those who already love working with mosaics.For bookings:

Art History Lecture Series – Four Great Paintings in Four Weeks
When: Wednesdays 19 February, 5 & 19 March, 2 April 2025.
Time: 5pm to 6.30pm

About: This lecture series offers an in-depth look at four significant paintings, exploring their art historical, philosophical, and cultural context.
We will examine the fascinating backstories of these works, the lives of the artists, and the distinctive styles they employed. The series will also delve into the historical periods in which the paintings were created, shedding light on the history, science, and philosophical ideas that influenced these shifts in artistic style and taste.
Additionally, we’ll explore the provenance of the paintings—their journey through various owners and institutions—from their creation to where they are today.
